Becs Boyd (b 1968) combines a fascination with often-unseen dimensions of our lives, with an understanding of paint handling and composition. There is a feeling in Boyd’s work of the St Ives artists: where natural elements and observations weave through an abstracted landscape; and a belief in the power of painting and sculpture.

'I work with painting, sculpture, written word, sound and moving image to explore time, uncertainty and what it is to be human in a largely non-human world. My work as an ecologist fuels my interest in how physical experiences of time connect me with ‘the spaces I don’t control’, placing me within a vast universe of other life-forms and timeframes.'

Becs Boyd

Boyd trained as an Ecologist before studying at Moray School of Art, where she graduated with a BA Hons Fine Art (First Class) in 2020. Since then her work has grown an increasingly large following.
