Jane MacNeill (b 1971) is one of the country’s finest landscape artists. The zen-like simplicity of her compositions, subtle palette, close tonality and richly layered paint handling create a profound feeling of stillness and reverence. This meditative quality in communion with nature is rooted in her native Cairngorms, where the ancient mountains are an enduring source of strength and renewal.
Jane MacNeill trained at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1998 with a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Drawing and Painting and a postgraduate MFA (Master of Fine Art). Her work is found in public collections such as the Wakefield Gallery, The Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh College of Art and private collections worldwide.
